The Métiers d’Art show has been a project that incorporates all of the intricacies of Chanel into a contemporary environment. The show has been marked as Karl Lagerfeld’s most recent collection; paying homage to the cultural aspects of his ever-loving city, Paris. Although hosted in Rome, we see a cultural phenomenon unlike any other. Attempting to lift the spirits of his fallen brothers in Paris, he tried to praise and justify the great artistic motif that is Parisian fashion.
Lagerfeld’s fashion career has been marked with some of those most prestigious positions in the world. He is the head designer and creative director of both Chanel and Fendi; two insanely recognized, international brands. His time at Chanel has been extremely beneficial to the brand, as he was able to create a new look for its classic pieces all throughout the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.

Whether new to the scene of high fashion or a lifetime professional, Karl Lagerfeld is a name that every person knows throughout the fashion world. The German native has created a legacy unlike any other throughout the twentieth century, and still continues to do so today.
Karl Lagerfeld may be a more antiquated man, but he’s far from being prevalent in contemporary fashion. He has attributed to such monumental shows this year such as Chanel’s Spring 2016 collection, which was presented at the Grand Palais in Paris. The collection not only provides a fresh palette filled with contemporary pastels, but the chic Chanel look we are all familiar with.
Many fans of Karl Lagerfeld’s work are unaware of the sheer genius that he possesses. A collector of fine art and literature, he’s extremely educated when it comes to all aspects of European culture. In addition, he’s somewhat of a futurist, often talking about the ever-changing global landscape, as well as bringing forward ideas of technology and social media.
